Sierra Leone talent fund
This rolling fund covers the employment costs of hiring new people into under-resourced projects in Sierra Leone
We want to support organisations working in the areas of health care, clean water, food and livelihoods in rural parts of Sierra Leone to recruit skilled practitioners. This is because we know that having very capable people running programmes on the ground can make the difference between success and failure. Whether it a professional from Sierra Leone's cities or an experienced volunteer from the UK or elsewhere, if covering additional costs will get you the right person for an important project, we want to hear from you.
We will consider funding travel, accommodation, visas & residence permits, remote working allowances and other essential costs. Placements should be typically long term but we may consider shorter ones of at least 4 weeks if the placement is likely to have lasting impact, by training existing staff for example.
Interested organisations seeking support should contact us here explaining what skills are not currently available locally, why recruiting externally makes sense, the additional costs of doing this and how local capacity will be built over the long term as part of their overall plan. Please attach 1) Project plan including costs 2) Role description, with a CV if you already have someone in mind or a person specification if not
Alternatively we would like to hear from individuals who want to make as much difference as possible to the lives of people living in extreme poverty. If you are someone who can make things happen and are interested in working in rural Sierra Leone please get in touch and we will look to connect you with organisations that have key positions to fill.
